Summer has arrived in Texas

I apologize to the handful of people that actually do read this...

I have been taking full advantage of having nothing to do -The kids and I have been hanging here at the house and I have been trying to keep the use of technology at a minimum.

My husband and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary May 20th we went to the Kemah boardwalk and celebrated with a wonderful and delicious meal at Landrys Seafood and hung out on the boardwalk and watched a live band that plays all the crowds favorite party music!!!! I really enjoyed my alone time with the hubby because it doesn't happen often enough!!!

So we head outside for jumping and playing baseball....we have recently started going to play in the water at local splash parks and have filled up the little plastic pool a few times....

My friends and I all celebrated our 30th birthdays this year. I think it is wonderful that a small handful of us that graduated high school together still hang out on a regular basis...we also have kids the same age so we are able to get them together too !

This picture was taken at my friends surprise dinner for her birthday! She is a bit of a party planner herself and was super hard to keep a secret from her.

Master Bedroom Update

One of the most important task to complete in the re do is getting the windows dressed to block out the light coming in the window...While others like a lot of natural light, I prefer to HIBERNATE!!!

Well, I finally got pictures uploaded of the new bedding and a special arrangement my aunt made for me. I still have a few decorative accessories to add and have put the new dresser/armoir on hold for a while....cause frankly with me not working we are just making what we do have work.

Master Bedroom- Sneak Peak !

Well, after many trips to Marshalls, Target, Walmart, Steinmart, BBB, Ross, Anna's Linens, Dillards, Macy, JCPenny, ....did I forget any???? I would buy, bring home, return, get to the check out and change my mind, Go to one target and change my mind by the time I get to the other one.....I spent days!!!!!! I think I finally got got it!!!! While me and my husband were at the lake it came to me....we enjoy being outside, we love nature! So what better way to capture that in our bedroom...

Leaf motif !!!

I always liked this pillow from Target ...it was my first purchase! --that I didn't return

This came from Marshalls...it was on an end cap with some other beachy stuff in the very back....how lucky was I to dig!!!!

I got these outdoor tables at target too! I thought they would go great with the outdoorsy look I was going for and a whole lot cheaper than furniture store nightstands....they were $74 but I ended up only paying $59 each! I think they will look really great once all the accessories get on there!!!

Last but not least...

One day when I walked into walmart to look at sheets I saw this in a special sale section...they are lined and just the right color and length that I needed...the greatest thing - They were only $7 a piece!!!! Jackpot!!!!!

Stay tuned to see everything put together!!!!

My husband is turning 30 today and I turned 30 last week. I thought it was finally time we got a grown up bedroom. We bought a new Comfor Pedic mattress with our income tax money !!! Yippee!!!! So now comes the make over. I had planned on going to get paint and get started but both kids came down with strep...Maybe next week!!! So to hold you over here are the BEFORE pictures

Taking Part in Pantry Challenge

I am not official in the Pantry challenge but I am participating on my own.

I took inventory and have made menus for the last few weeks....I still have only gone to the store about twice for milk and one time while at the store they had there big family packs of pork steaks on sale for 89 cents a pound. So I got 2 packs for less than $9

Monday- Pork steaks in the slow cooker- season them up real good, Lipton onion soup mix and a can of beef broth. yum! serve with rice and veggies!

A Hunting we will go !!!!

Last weekend we experienced some of the coldest temps here in the last 10 years. 6 mornings in a row where it was at or below freezing. While I was here freezing with the kiddos my husband was on a hunting trip. He was inviting to go on an annual hunting trip with a group of guys from all around the United States that get together every year to duck hunt. What a great guys weekend for him. Next year they are planning to go to South Dakota.

I started college a few days ago!!!!!! When news was that I was getting laid off from my office job, my husband and I discussed me finishing my bachelors degree. They have a program that is the BAAS degree and it allows the flexibility I need to explore several classes and decide what I want to do. I only have 31 hours left so I need to figure it out.

This is a boring- slow and steady time of year for us. I apologize to my few readers for the lack of post but I will be here in between homework and kids to read the amazing blogs that I do!!!!!
